In 1983, I founded Leonard Braunschweiger & Company,

an interior design firm specializing in contemporary,

modern and classic style interiors. Though primarily

based in the New York City metropolitan Tristate area, I

have worked on projects throughout the United States

and as far afield as the Middle East.

I work closely with my clients to provide solutions that

fulfill each client’s unique needs. I am known for my

ability to plan and create excellent interior spaces and to

pay particular attention to construction details, i.e.

kitchen and bathroom designs. I am sensitive to finishes

such as color and material, and, having gained a

reputation for my ability to provide custom design

solutions, I am often called upon to design furniture,

lighting and various objects and accessories.

My work has been published in numerous books, such as the Decorative Carpet by Alix Perrachon, and has appeared in many periodicals, such as Interior Design Magazine and New York Spaces.

I was on the faculty of Parsons School of Design for over 20 years and found that working with my students is similar to working with my clients: the end result is a positive change.

My company has worked in collaboration with architects, lighting designers, and engineers, successfully completing projects involving the coordination of interior and exterior renovations as well as new architecture.

Since I started working in this field, my company has undergone many changes, though my fundamental passion for design has been unwavering. Throughout much of my career, for example, I have been involved in projects of enormous complexity, however, I am now focused on bringing my many years of experience to more modest projects. Creating these more limited design interiors and working with my clients continues to be an incredibly satisfying and enriching part of my life, and to this day, I look forward to working on each and every project that I take on.
